Experience
I have more than 20 years experience doing math tutoring. I worked at SUNY Brockport math clinic as a graduate student where we helped students in all classes up to Calc III. I have worked for some of the area school districts doing home tutoring for students out of school. I have done private tutoring with Brockport college students including adults returning to school taking math classes they didn't take in high school. I have also done a lot of private tutoring with students from Aquinas Institute (private Catholic high school in Rochester) for more than 15 years. I want to be a tutor because I enjoy working one on one with students and seeing them catch on and do well with their math courses. It's exciting to hear that they have passed Regents or AP exams. One Aquinas student was failing Algebra when I started with her in January and ended up winning an award for her math by the end of the school year. I have 2 volunteer jobs where I have professional type responsiblities. I serve on the Alumni Board for SUNY Brockport where I am on the archives committee and was our group's photographer for our Alumni House inventory project. I have been on the board for 14 years. I also volunteer at the George Eastman House motion picture department. When I started over 15 years ago, I worked on organizing and maintaining the video collection. Now I spent my time there working on the stills collection where I identify stills and research cast/credit information to add to the database while doing general database cleanup.
